What does $100 on Fiverr get you?

Written on April 23, 2012, by Chris Yoko

Recently there has been a lot of hype around Fiverr and several similar sites.  As far as marketing goes there have been a lot of comments that hail it as a great cheap resource for businesses, and other comments which remind potential users that you get what you pay for.  To find out what, if any, benefits are derived from some of the Fiverr, the team here picked out 20 gigs that are in some way related to marketing, and we’ll put ‘em to the test.

I’ve broken the list into 4 basic categories, along with our best guess as to the outcome of each category.  As we see results, we’ll track them, and share with you the best and worst Fiverr has to offer.

  1. YouTube videos / testimonials.
  2. Twitter/Facebook blasts and paid posts.
  3. Twitter/Facebook followers/friends.
  4. Random stuff about your logo – drawing, painting, etc.

Are there any Fiverr gigs you want us to test out?  Link us in the comments.

Actually, you can find a ton of selected Fiverr gigs on our Best of Fiverr blog. Recent gig mentions are a video magician, a street performer who juggles knives and chainsaws, a Photoshop artist who’ll posterize you or your pet, and the list goes on. You can’t go wrong with any of these.

I like Mr. Marcus, the juggler. He’s got a lot of personality.

Many marketers are finding that the alternative sites are a better option for finding more quality gigs simply because of the front page listings for the higher priced jobs. Sites like NetTradR are making big strides for both sellers and buyers.

I personally love Brenda the Belly, My girlfriend bought me a video of a stomach singing happy birthday on fiverr, and I thought it was the most hilarious thing ever.
