Our Interview Process
Got an interview? Awesome! It'll go down something like this.
Step 1
Culture Check
Our first conversation will be an exploratory Zoom call to check that we vibe with each other. We'll want to learn a bit about you, address some logistics, make sure we're on the same page about the role, and confirm the information in your application.
Step 2
Team Interview / Assessment
Once we've narrowed things down to a small handful of candidates, we'll set up time for you to interview with other members of your future department. You'll talk about you, we'll talk about us, and we'll ask each other lots of questions.
Step 3
Practical Assessment
When we've narrowed it down to a few finalists who are seriously being considered for the position, we'll likely ask you to complete a brief practical assessment to make sure you have the skills to do the job.
In some cases, we may offer an opportunity to do (paid) freelance work in lieu of an assessment.
Step 4
Final Conversation
Now that you've met the team, learned about the role, and shown off your skills, we'll meet one last time to confirm that it seems like the right fit all around. If everything looks good, you might just be the newest team member at Yoko Co.

Timing is Everything
We usually review applications within a week or two. From your first interview to a job offer, the process typically takes 2–4 weeks. If you’re on a tight timeline, let us know and we’ll do our best to keep things moving.
Zooming In, Literally
We’re a fully remote, worldwide team, so interviews happen on Zoom. We keep cameras on because it helps us connect like real humans and gives everyone a chance to explore whether this feels like the right fit.

We’re not micro-managers, and no one’s watching your every move. We’ll know you’ve been on task because the proof will be in your work (not because someone hovered over your shoulder… unless you count the invisible monster living in your house).
