Yoko Co Named in 2024 Best Places to Work

We won an award. Over the years, we've actually won many awards. For the most part, we don't care. We're not a sports team, the purpose of our work isn't to win the league and hoist the cup.

We're not a band, music producer, filmmaker, writer, painter or sculptor. The purpose of our work is rarely for one to simply enjoy the work itself. As much as we might want to, we're unlikely to EGOT.

Like sports teams, we have goals. Like entertainers, we have audiences. Like both, we aim to impact people beyond just a simple interaction with our product. Clients have often shared touching and impactful stories of the difference our work has made in people's lives.

Rather than to simply entertain, the purpose of our work, ultimately, is to nudge the world, however infinitesimally, in a better direction. To, as we say at Yoko Co, Do Good. Better. That impact looks different for each of the types of organizations we work with:

• Help associations communicate and engage with entire industries at scale, to share substantial and impactful information that drives progress.
  • Be they trade organizations helping to improve security, healthcare quality, or even the logistics that transport everything from produce to vaccines.
  • Or member organizations that help patients with treatments from root canals to EMDR therapy, or professionals from Historians, Engineers, Music Educators, or Attorneys General.
• Help companies connect with clients to mutually improve the world through things like adopting AI, preventing electrical fires, caring for ill friends and family, writing grants, learning to read, write, and speak, and so much more.
• Help nonprofit organizations do everything from raise funds to help celebrate and save animals, conserve rainforest, experience our oceans or Africa, prevent bullying, donate blood, and connect the globe.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, there is no award for "people who worked passionately, often behind the scenes, to make the world a better place for people they will mostly never meet."

However, there is an award that shows who is most enjoying their experience at work. The Best Places to Work award. We were fortunate enough to make the cut for both the Washington Business Journal and Inc.
