Case Study

The American Historical Association, founded in 1884 and congressionally chartered in 1889, leads 10,500 professional historians across all historical eras and geographical regions. They serve as the foundation of historical scholarship, championing historical thinking in public life.

Their digital presence, however, wasn't reflecting this leadership. A maze of outdated navigation buried vital resources within thousands of pages. Educators struggled to find teaching materials, researchers battled to access publications, and staff faced constant content management challenges.

Deep insights from the historical community guided our transformation. We built three core innovations: a dynamic resource library with faceted search for instant access; a comprehensive restructuring of 40,000+ pages into clear pathways; and an accessibility-first infrastructure supporting WCAG and ADA standards.

I can't say good enough things about working with Yoko Co. They thought carefully about how our website should function best, and kept us updated at every step. Their designers built us a beautiful website that is easy for our staff to use and users to navigate. I can't recommend Yoko Co highly enough!"
