Case Study
The National Academy of Sciences (NAS), established under President Lincoln in 1863, stands as the nation's preeminent scientific advisory organization. When this historic institution needed to modernize its digital presence, our team was selected to develop a comprehensive web ecosystem that would honor their legacy while embracing contemporary digital standards.
Our solution encompassed not only the main NAS website but also several distinct program platforms including CPNAS, LabX, and the Science and Entertainment Exchange. We crafted unique visual identities for each program while maintaining cohesive connections to the core NAS brand, ensuring each platform could serve its specific audience while reinforcing the organization's overarching mission to advance scientific understanding.
A centerpiece of our implementation was the development of a member directory integrated with their Association Management System, providing seamless single sign-on functionality and content protection. The system's robust architecture ensures secure access to sensitive content, while maintaining user-friendliness for the public.
The new platform supports the crucial role NAS in providing authoritative, trusted scientific advice for the benefit of society, and strengthened its ability to promote scientific excellence and foster a deeper understanding of science across the nation.
